February 2, 2017 Ground Hog’s Day

Date When Celebrated : February 2 each year

Groundhog Day is celebrated in the United States every year on February 2. On this day in Punxsutawney, P.A., the groundhog (Phil) awakens from a long winter’s nap, and goes outside of his den to see if he sees his shadow. He is known for predicting if winter will continue or if we are ready for spring.

According to the legend, if Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow then there will be six more weeks of winter, and Phil returns to his den and goes back to sleep. If he does not see his shadow, Phil plays around outside of his den for a while and spring is just around the corner!

Osgood Team loves this tradition because it is fun and playful. We know that a ground hog cannot really determine the change of season (but just in case we will be watching). We know that here in Colorado it is wonderful to experience all the seasons! In the winter skiing, sledding, snowball fights! Or spring planting beautiful plants and flowers, hiking, etc.. There is so much to do in Colorado that why we love living here!

We are never too busy for your referrals!                                    Picture courtesy of Associated PressSTG0131 punxsutawney phil 02.jpg
