Find the Clues and Learn About Parker at Parker Quest on Aug. 23

If you’re looking for something different to do this weekend, Parker might have just the event for you.

It’s called Parker Quest. And the 2014 version will be held on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, from 9 a.m. to noon.

The free scavenger-hunt-style event begins at the gazebo in O’Brien Park and includes an adventure-filled tour of downtown Parker – sure to be fun for families, teams and individuals who like searching and finding clues.

Participants will learn about the Town’s history and heritage as they solve each clue and then go on to find the next location and clue. Those who complete the quest will be entered into a random prize drawing.

This is the third year of the event, which is based on the 150-year-old tradition of “questing,” which brings people together to share and learn about their community’s cultural history.

Parker Quest is a partnership between the Town of Parker, Parker Area Historical Society, Parker Parks and Recreation, Parker Arts and Douglas County Libraries.

Registration is required. You can sign up at www.DouglasCountyLibraries.org or by phone at 303.791.7323.
