Date When Celebrated : May 5 th each year

The celebration originated on May 5, 1862, when the Mexican army defeated the French army at the Battle of Puebla. This military battle signified the end of European colonial power, and a victory for the Mexican people. It’s a wonderful time to celebrate Mexican pride and enjoy such a rich culture.
