Parker Days Festival Goes Green in 2013

Parker, CO – On Thursday, June 13 through Sunday, June 16, Parker Days Festival will return to Downtown Parker, CO. It will open to the public Thursday night from 5 – 10 PM for carnival rides only. On Friday the entire festival will be open from 5 PM. – midnight. Saturday the festival will be open 9 AM – 11 PM and Sunday from 9 AM – 8 PM.
The Parker Days Festival has begun year one of a multi-year recycling education program. In 2013 the Green Team sponsored by Leanne Osgood with the Osgood Team of Rocky Mountain Real Estate Advisors, will be educating the Parker Days Festival attendees, vendors, and volunteers about recycling on a small scale. They plan to focus on recycling waste from the vendors’ booths. They also plan to have three recycling stations throughout the festival. “This year we (the Green Team, comprised of volunteers from Boy Scout Troop 88) will focus on educating the community on recycling and collecting as much plastic, aluminum and cardboard as possible,” said Osgood. The ultimate goal is for the festival to be a zero waste event.
The show will host over 300 vendors, 40 carnival rides, excellent summer food, and so much more. The festival is free to attend. Carnival passes are $30 for a daily pass ($25 presale online) and $60 for the mega pass, which includes carnival rides for all four days.  To purchase tickets visit, www.parkerdaysfestival.com.
