Peter Pan Will Captivate Audiences at Lone Tree Arts Center This November

Be whisked away to the land where children never grow up when CYT Denver presents Peter Pan at the Lone Tree Arts Center Nov. 13-16, 2014.

The performance is just one of three CYT performances that will be held at the Lone Tree Arts Center, 10075 Commons St. in Lone Tree, during the 2014-15 season. The other shows will be The Secret Garden in February 2015, and Shrek, the Musical, in April/May 2015.  Shrek also will be performed at the Parker Arts, Culture and Events (PACE) Center this spring.

Peter Pan opens on Nov. 13 with a tribute to a long-time CYT Denver student, Tim White, who was diagnosed with leukemia one week following his final performance last spring.

The timeless musical will take you from the nursery of the Wendy, Michael and John Darling as they travel with Peter Pan and Tinkerbell on a magical journey across the stars and then on to the adventures brought on by the Captain Hook, a ticking crocodile and a band of bungling pirates.

Tickets for the six performances of Peter Pan are on sale now and range from $13 to $20. Tickets will go on sale Dec 8 for the six performances of the Secret Garden, an enchanting story of 11-year-old Mary Lennox who is orphaned in India and returns to Yorkshire to live with her reclusive Uncle Archibald and his invalid son, Colin.

Put on by CYT Denver, these productions are designed to showcase what the students have learned at the end of each of its three annual after-school theatrical arts and education sessions.

A non-profit organization, CYT has been providing exposure to the arts for youth between the ages of 6 and 18 in the South Denver metro area since 2003. It offers after-school programs, summer theater camps, full-scale theater productions and a High School Youth Pursuing Excellence (HYPE) leadership training program.

Don’t miss out on these youthful performances. Peter Pan has been called captivating, exhilarating and jubilating. It’s sure to lift your spirits and make you dream of being a child again.
