ANNUAL LEGEND HIGH SCHOOL MARCHING BAND FESTIVAL SET FOR OCTOBER 10, 2015

Parker, Colo. – Sept 15, 2015 – The Legend High School Band Boosters presents the 6th Annual Legend Marching Festival. The event will take place on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the Sports Authority Stadium in Parker, Colorado (11901 Newlin Gulch Blvd, Parker, CO, 80134), and is open to the public. The Festival is a Colorado Bandmasters Association (CBA)-sanctioned event. More than 1,800 students from 28 high school marching bands will compete for top honors in their division.

The preliminary round begins at 8:30 a.m. (gates open at 7:30 a.m.). The thirteen highest-scoring bands will move on to the final competition, beginning at 6:00 p.m. (gates will open at 5:45 p.m.). Ticket prices are $12 ($7 students) for the preliminary competition, $12 ($7 students) for the final competition, or $20 ($12 students) for both rounds. Children 5 and under are free, as are uniformed, active duty military. Concessions will be available the entire day. Programs, t-shirts, and patches also will be sold.

The Legend High School Marching Band (Parker, CO) hosts the Festival and will perform their field show “The Edge” after the end of preliminary competition. The band program is under the direction of Mr. Orlando Otis.

The Legend Titan Band program is rapidly becoming recognized as one of the premier programs in the State of Colorado. In August, the marching band won first place in the Littleton Western Welcome Week parade competition. In 2014, they competed in class 5A, placing 4TH at the CBA State Finals, and 1st in their CBA regional competition. The band competed and received the Overall 1st Place award in the 1A class of the 2014 Gator Bowl Parade competition held in Jacksonville, Florida, as well as recognition for the Best Drum Major, 1st Place Music, 1st Place Marching, and 1st Place General Effect. The Legend Titan Marching Band will also be marching in the 2016 London New Year’s’ Day Parade this coming January.
