The Taste of Douglas County Gives Residents a Chance to Savor the County’s Dining Options
If you want to taste some of Douglas County’s varied and tasty restaurant offerings, you won’t want to miss the 13th annual Taste of Douglas County.
Billed as the largest and premier food tasting event in Douglas County, the CenturyLink Taste of Douglas County will feature more than 50 eateries of all types and sizes at the Douglas County Events Center from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015.
The Douglas County Events Center, located just east of I-25 at Exit 181 (Plum Creek), offers the perfect indoor, air-conditioned setting to taste samples from the Old Stone Church, Outback Steakhouse, John Holly’s Asian Bistro, Pegasus Restaurant, Black Eyed Pea, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, B & B Cafe, India’s Castle, Casa Caliente Mexican Restaurant, Southern Hospitality, Crave Real Burgers and many more.
In addition to food samples, many restaurants give out coupons that can be used in the future.
Attendees can also spin a prize wheel to win gift certificates from area restaurants, including L & L Hawaiian Barbecue, Bonefish Grill, Brewery Bar III and Imperial Beer of Costa Rica.
Perhaps the highlight of the night is watching some of Douglas County’s top chefs compete for first, second and third place awards.
Competing chefs will include last year’s winner, Jeff Richard from Crave Real Burgers, as well as Adam Freisem from Manna Restaurant at the Castle Rock Adventist Hospital, Mike Hernandez from Blue Nectar Innovative Mexican Grill, Chef Jeff Gebott from Southern Hospitality, Michael VanTrabert from Old Stone Church, Doug Roe from Buckskin Saloon and Ben Litata from Rose’s Bella Cucina.

Parking at the Douglas County Events Center is free.
