2014 Wine Walks – A Way to Get to Know Downtown Parker and Your Neighbors
If you’re looking for something different – and fun – to do on the last Friday of the month, you might want to head to downtown Parker for Old Town Parker Wine Walks
Sponsored by the Parker Area Chamber of Commerce, the walks are a great excuse to get out of the house, and to visit the participating shops and restaurants along Mainstreet.
The Wine Walks are from 5 to 8 p.m. on the fourth Friday of the month – May through October. Upcoming walks are scheduled for July 25, Aug. 22, Sept. 26 and Oct. 24, 2014.
The cost is $15 per participant, who must be 21 years of age or older. Each participant will receive a free wine glass and 10 tasting coupons, plus a list of participating businesses.
Tickets are available at the Parker Area Chamber of Commerce and VisitorCenter, 19590 E. Mainstreet, Parker, CO 80138. That’s on the northwest corner of Mainstreet and Pikes Peak Drive. Please note that ticket sales close at 7 p.m.
The Wine Walks have attracted thousands of people in past years. It’s really exciting to see downtown hopping with so many people, many of whom are meeting new friends and learning about the Mainstreet businesses.
The Parker Artists Guild will participate again this year. Its members will be on hand to paint on the stemware that is provided – as a free service. Members also will demonstrate and/or show their art at a location by the MainstreetCenter.
So round up your significant other, group of friends or neighbors, and head to downtown Parker on the last Friday of the month. It’s an evening – and an event – you’ll talk about for years to come.
